Thank you to those of you who are participating in the voluntary mask initiative that started on September 9th. We have seen very promising results thus far that have already reduced the amount of quarantines in both school buildings after only four days. At Mountain View Elementary, voluntary mask wearing has increased from approximately 2% to 40% for students and from approximately 33% to 90% for staff. At Mountain View Middle School, voluntary mask wearing has increased from approximately 25% to 50% for students and from approximately 50% to 80% for staff. At Mountain View High School, voluntary mask wearing has increased from just a few individuals to approximately 15%-20% for students and approximately 75% for staff. Great news! More than 30 students have avoided quarantines during the first four days of this voluntary initiative due to students and staff members voluntarily wearing masks. Thanks again for your participation! Let’s continue to work together to build momentum and reduce quarantines even more!
