We sent out reopening surveys this week via email to staff members and parents/guardians. The response rate has been excellent! I appreciate the feedback we have received so far. Thank you to those of you who completed the survey. Your input is valued and appreciated. If you haven’t taken the survey yet, the window is still open.

The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) released their Smart Start guidelines last week. The Uinta 4 Reopening committee has reviewed the entire document. We also spent an hour on Wednesday (today) at our weekly meeting specifically discussing the legal framework of the guidelines and the safety and wellness component of the guidelines. We will be receiving some further guidance from the WDE on Monday specific to the allowable options for remote and virtual learning should a school closure be enacted again during this upcoming school year. Ultimately, we must have our reopening plan completed by August 3rd and sent to the WDE for approval. The committee will be meeting weekly until the reopening plan is completed. Next week we will look at the School Operations and Instruction components of the guidelines.

Governor Gordon’s current health orders expire on July 15th. It will be interesting to see the next round of guidelines and how they relate to school reopening and fall sports.

As mentioned previously, you can expect a weekly school reopening update from me throughout the rest of the summer.

Enjoy this great weather!
